Whew! It's finally done and I think I like this version better, so I'm chalking it up to a "happy doggy accident"! And yes, my dogs really did eat my beadwork...if I had a nickel for every time that student excuse was thrown my way I would have tons more beads! Maybe I should have believed them... ;)
Drum Roll Please:
I used almost all the stones that Shannon sent me and added my own Czech glass flower and leaves, in addition to my handcrafted copper S links which I think echos the curves in the flower focal.
I think the rich pinky-orange ribbon really enhances the ceramic butterfly, bronzite and jasper stones Shannon included.
Well, there you have it. A tragedy of sorts has blossomed into a comedy of errors and all's well that ends well! Thank you for being patient and all your funny comments!

Beautiful, really like the red accent bead and
ReplyDeletered ribbon to add a punch of color
Well, in spite of your dogs, you turned out a wonderful piece. I love that ribbon with all the colorful beads and the focal. The little butterfly is so cute by the ribbon. So sweet.
ReplyDeleteMan I love those S links! The colors you chose are vibrant and luscious! I think your dogs were really just helping your creativity! :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful! You have created a terrific piece of wearable art in spite of your doggy disaster. I like your use of color and texture and your wire work is great!. Thank you for sharing your artistic process along the way. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteLori
Awesome necklace!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll look back on this one day and laugh. Though I can't imagine it being particularly funny on Saturday.
But I bet if the dogs could talk it'd go something like this: " Oh c'mon mum, we were helping with your creative process!"
As for leaving stuff on the ground, you must have heard of dog property rules:

ReplyDeleteLovely Sharon! I love how colorful the necklace is! And the contrast between the ribbon and the pendant.
ReplyDeleteWhat would our dogs do if we didn't love them so?
Shannon had told me about your dog(s) eating your soup. I was dumbstruck. . .I'm so sorry. But, it sounds like you are much happier with this version anyway.
ReplyDeleteI also really like it. Your S-shaped links are really cool and I love all the texture you have in this piece. You made a great recovery in record time!
Not fair Sharon, making you do double work! Too funny, but not! Well, your necklace is wonderful, love it. And the copper flower you made is stunning! Great job, and thank you so much for swinging by. Hugs, Riki
ReplyDeleteI love this piece, Sharon!! Fabulous job!
ReplyDeleteSharon, when I look at this I see my piece! They are so similar, except you have those darling swirl links! Job well done, girlie!

hello gorgeous xxx
Really beautiful and worth the wait! I like how you incorporated the ribbon. The wire scrolls add a really beautiful touch to the design. Well done.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Love the pendant and how you used it with the flowers, leaves and copper.
ReplyDeleteThat is lovely, especially how you've used the silk with the wirework! I hope the dogs are ok now :P
ReplyDeleteThe ribbon is beautiful, but the wirework takes it to another level of wow! (I really wanted to throw a little Shakespeare in, but my literature brain seems to have shorted out!)
ReplyDeleteI like this alot, wonderful necklace.
ReplyDeleteLove it, you've achieved the right mix of colour and balance...it's a gorgeous design.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I love the focal and the red ribbon. You are so creative!
ReplyDeleteI can't help but smile when I read about what the dogs did. Now, I wouldn't have been a very happy person if that'd happened to me, but I can so relate to it, having spent yesterday trying to make a bracelet with two kittens at the same time trying to steal and/or eat the very chain and cord I was working with. Then I found out that one of the cats had totally perforated one of my pretty ombré french wired ribbons. *grrr* Naughty, naughty pets. But it's so hard to stay mad at them, no matter what they do!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, that necklace looks fab! I really like the copper links and the mix of beads looks so nice. Like the ribbon in the back too, adding some softness to the design. Great job!
I love every inch of your design.Just Beautiful!!Hugs,Cat
ReplyDeleteWhew crisis averted! Thanks for the beautiful copper flower I loved it and the necklace I made with it seems to have been a favorite!
ReplyDeleteI hope you liked playing with the soup I sent even though you had to re-do your piece twice. I love the ribbon detail!
What a gorgeous necklace. It might have come about in an accidental way but it sure shines.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - great contrast between the pale pendant and striking ribbon!
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I'm still kind of giggling about the dogs eating your (home)work! But in all seriousness, this design is really creative! Don't let those dogs near this one!
ReplyDeleteThat actually looks very comfortable to wear. I like the design, layout and use of wire with the ribbon for the back. Everything just comes together beautifully.

What a beautiful cheerful necklace!!! I am a sucker for any bead flower - love the swirly links too - lovely job!
ReplyDeleteLove the softness to the design...it's so light and airy. Glad to see the design after the doggie mishap!
ReplyDeleteMichelle
Beautiful!! Love the links!
ReplyDeleteI see spring, summer and fall in this necklace. It's fresh and feminine.
ReplyDeleteIn jewelry making, I wish for accidents that yield something unique, something amazing, although, I can see how that could backfire. Careful what you wish for...
Great post!
I love the necklace, the pendant is so simple and so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt turned out beautiful! I'm glad the dogs weren't harmed, but I would understand if they were. I have a naughty jewelry stealer/chewer upper dog myself. The fact she's made it to 3 years old is a miracle.
ReplyDeleteOh, how beautiful! So lovely! Thank goodness the focal survived the dog "incident" and that they didn't get into any tummy trouble from the beads.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely necklace! Really love the ribbon and the copper 's' links! Nice job.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful..love how the copper swirls mimic the swirls in the focal. The ribbon is such a gorgeous colour.
ReplyDeletejenni
